ONION SKIN CELL CASE STUDY

Intrigued by the structure of something unnoticable by the human eye,
this is a case study of the microscopic view of an onion skin cell.

This is what the onion skin cell looks like
under a microscope.

I drew my own interpretations of the structure to replicate through the double bed knitting machine.

Sample 1

Materials: Wool

Sample 2

Materials: Cotton, Rayon, Wool

Sample 3

Materials: Polyester and Rayon

Sample 4

Materials: Cotton and Polyester

Sample 5

Materials: Buttons, Linen, Trash
Through this case study, I wanted to get really familiar with both the double bed knitting machine and the structure of an onion skin cell. I found that when I gave myself really strict restrictions, I was able to be more creative.
